Think Bigger: From Barrow Boy to Ministry of Defence Licensee
Share
A couple of years ago, a manager once told me to “think bigger than just being a barrow boy.” It was a piece of advice that stuck with me, and this week, I’ve most definitely lived up to it. I’m thrilled to announce that Flamingo Rock has been accepted into the Ministry of Defence License scheme. This prestigious license enables us to produce UK Armed Forces clothing for official MOD use, as well as sell to UK veterans. Moreover, we are currently collaborating with several UK Armed Forces charities to produce dual-branded clothing, blending tradition with purpose.
A Time of Change for the Armed Forces
This is an incredibly exciting time for the Armed Forces, as every badge and logo is being reviewed and updated following King Charles III’s Coronation. With His Majesty’s accession, new artwork is being prepared for insignia, departmental logos, and other symbols that feature the Royal Cypher, the Royal Crown, and similar devices. This artwork is being centrally prepared, and the College of Arms is overseeing its approval. The updates signify a fresh chapter in the rich history of the Armed Forces, and we’re honored to be a part of this transformation, helping to craft the next generation of iconic military symbols.
Looking Ahead: 700 New Badges and Counting
At Flamingo Rock, we’re eagerly anticipating updating our website with over 700 new badges as they become available. The opportunity to serve our Armed Forces and veterans by producing these updated emblems is both an honor and a privilege. If you have an event that requires an MOD badge, we are ready and fully licensed to produce it. As we continue to grow and expand our offerings, we remain committed to delivering quality and authenticity in every piece of clothing we produce, all while keeping our promise to think bigger every step of the way.
